and remixing music since he was 14
yrs old. He was originally exposed to music via breakdancing,
and was the
first to do the cabbage patch at his jr. high school. He
was a local
favorite in his hometown Santa Cruz as a party and battle
DJ, and under the
wing of Kutmasta Kurt, developed a sound fusing hip hop
and almost every
other form of music. He can recall doing mash-ups as early
as 1988.
After acquiring a degree in broadcasting
and audio production from SF State,
the release "Imaginarium" on Ocean Floor records for rapper

Zeph's first full length production. Considered by many
a golden era hip hop
classic, this record has since been rereleased 5 times.

titled release was a #1 cmj album in 2002. his follow up
release, Sunset
Scavenger, made headlines due to a legal dispute with the
sf garbage co.,
and was one of the top 10 albums of the year in xlr8r magazine.
Both
releases available on Wide Hive Records. His next full
length release "Rise
Up" by Zeph & Azeem , released on the Om Records imprint
Om: HIp Hop,
garnished the single "Play the Drum" that was a song of
the year on
Australia's JJJ radio, and was featured in the HBO hit
series Entourage.
His in demand mixtapes are where the musical diversity
of his past shines,
fusing such genres as rock, electro, jazz, original funk
breaks, house,
reggae and latin music with hip hop.

of the year in 2002, as well as was
in the Urb magazine next 100. After the chart success of
