Another Planet Entertainment
and Superfly Presents, in association with San
Francisco’s Recreation and Park Department
and the City of San Francisco are producing the
2nd Annual Outside Lands Music & Arts Festival
in Golden Gate Park (Polo Field, Speedway, Marx & Lindley
Meadows) on Friday, August 28th – Sunday,
August 30th, 2009. This concert event helps
benefit Golden Gate Park with a considerable portion
of ticket sales going directly to Rec & Park.
We are committed to mitigating the impact of the
event in your neighborhood. We hope that
the information contained below helps to serve
that purpose
Community Hotline
Again this year, we will have a Community Hotline
to respond to any issues that may affect you during
the festival. The festival hotline will be
available from 10:00am – 11:00PM on the festival
days. The hotline number is 415-933-6901.
Alternative Means of Transportation:
To help alleviate vehicle congestion in your neighborhood, we are strongly encouraging
patrons to take alternative means of transportation to the festival, including
MUNI, Bauers shuttles, biking or walking.
Tow Trucks/Parking Control Officers:
We will have 2 dedicated tow trucks and 1 Parking
Control Officer on each side of the Park to quickly
respond to any blocked driveways or any other
parking issues related to the Festival.
Road Closures:
We would like to make you aware of the following
road closures due to the event, so that you may
plan accordingly. The following entrances

Fencing Schedule:
The Fencing schedule is designed to close inaccessible
park areas first, leaving trails and meadows open
to the public as long as possible. The determination
to close areas of the park is based on security
and safety concerns for both the public and working
personnel.
Perimeter Fencing:
Perimeter Fencing around Middle Drive, Martin
Luther King Dr, Chain of Lakes Dr, John
F Kennedy Dr and Transverse Dr will begin
going up at 8:00am Friday, August 21. All
access points to trails and paths will
remain open until Wednesday, August 23
at 6:00am. At that time only working personnel
will be able to enter the Festival site.
Polo Field:
The Fencing will begin going up around the
perimeter of the Polo Field on Friday,
August 21 at 8:00am. We expect the fencing
to be completed by the end of that day. At
that point we will close the playing field
and the lower paved track to the public.
The upper track will remain open and all
normal access points into the area will
remain open through dusk on Sunday, August
23.
Beginning Monday, August 24 at 6:00am we
will close the west portion of the upper
track. We will keep an open path for the
public to traverse between Little Speedway
and Speedway Meadows using the paths behind
the upper track on the north and south sides
of the Polo Field.
From Tuesday, August 25 at 8:00pm until
Tuesday, September 1 at 8:00pm, all of the
Polo Field facilities will be closed to the
public. This measure ensures the safety and
security of both the public and working crews.
Speedway Meadow and Lindley
Meadow:
Fencing will begin going up in Speedway and
Lindley Meadows on Monday, August 24 at 8:00am.
There will be large breaks in the fence to
allow public access to Speedway Meadow until
Tuesday, August 25th at 8:00am and to Lindley
Meadow until Wednesday, August 26 at 8:00am.
Lindley Meadow will open back up to the
public on Monday, August 31st at 6:00PM and
Speedway Meadow will open on Wednesday, September
2nd at 8:00am.
